What is Bonus Card?

Bonus card is Romania’s first chip enhanced multi-branded revolving credit card and loyalty program. At Bonus Card Partner Merchants you earn bonus with purchases, and you will also have the opportunity to pay for purchases with a limited number of free installments or longer term loans with an advantageous interest rate. You can use your accumulated bonus for free shopping at the Bonus Card Partner Merchants.

Where can I apply for Bonus Card?

You can apply for Bonus Card at GarantiBank branches, at certain Bonus Card Partner Merchants, from www.bonuscard.ro and by calling Alo Garanti at 0800 80 1234 (toll free number for landlines), or +40 21 200 94 94 (regular charge number for cell phones).

Who can apply for Bonus Card?

You can apply for a Bonus Card if you are at least 18 years old and if you have a continuous monthly income.

Which documents do I need in order to apply for Bonus Card?

In order to apply for Bonus Card, you need to turn in your completed application form and signed credit card agreement along with a photocopy of your ID. If you are a foreigner, your work and residence permit will also be required.

If my Bonus Card application is approved, but I do not receive my card, what should I do?

If the courier is unable to reach you, your card will be returned to the bank. The credit card will be destroyed and reissued only at your request.

How can I find out whether or not my Bonus Card application was approved?

In order to find out the status of your Bonus Card application, you can visit a GarantiBank Branch. Where can I apply for Supplementary Card?

You can apply for a Supplementary Card by filling in the allocated fields on the main application form, by visiting a GarantiBank branch or by calling Alo Garanti at 0800 80 1234 (toll free number for landlines), or +40 21 200 94 94 (regular charge number for cell phones).

How will the limit of my Supplementary Card be determined?

During the application process, the main cardholder can determine what percentage he/she wants to allocate to the supplementary cardholder.

Can I decrease the limit of my Supplementary Card?

In order to decrease your Supplementary Card limit you need to come to the nearest GarantiBank branch to request the limit decrease form.

How can I pay my Supplementary Card balance?

Expenditures made with Supplementary Card are shown on the monthly statement separately from those of the main cardholder. The minimum payment amount will include also expenditures made by Supplementary Card.

What should I do if my Bonus Card is lost / stolen?

Answer: Please immediately call Alo Garanti 0800 80 1234 (toll free number for landlines), or +40 21 200 94 94 (regular charge number for cell phones) and report that your card has been lost or stolen. You will not be responsible for any purchases made with your card after the moment you have reported it lost / stolen. Your new card will be reissued and sent to you by courier as soon as possible.

How can I correct the name which is written on my Bonus Card?

You need to visit the nearest GarantiBank branch and bring a photocopy of your ID together with a signed request.

How can I receive the PIN code for my Bonus Card?

Payment / Limit Information

 

What is a statement?

Answer: The statement displays information about your limit, bonus, balance, payment information and all credit transactions made in the last billing cycle (the time elapsed between the current and previous statement print dates).

How can I increase my credit card limit?

Answer: In order to increase your credit card limit you need to come to the nearest GarantiBank branch to request a limit increase.

How can I change my statement date?

Answer: In order to change your statement date, please call Alo Garanti at 0800 80 1234 (toll free number for landlines), or +40 21 200 94 94 (regular charge number for cell phones). You can change your statement date only one time in any given month and a total of 3 times per year.

Can I make my credit card payments automatically?

Answer: If you would like your credit card payment to be deducted from your account on the payment due date, please inform your branch or you can call Alo Garanti at 0800 80 1234 (toll free number for landlines), or +40 21 200 94 94 (regular charge number for cell phones). For such transaction you need to have enough funds in your account on the day of the automatic payment.

Can I make my credit card payments automatically from my Bonus Card credit limit?

Answer: It is not possible to make credit card payments automatically from your Bonus Card credit limit. Credit card payment can be automatically deducted only from your account on the payment due date.

How is the grace period calculated?

Answer: The grace period is up to 50 days: 30 days for the transactional cycle plus 20 days for the payment of the outstanding balance.

Do all purchases get an interest charge?

Answer: No, if the total balance at statement date is paid by the due date, no interest will be charged on retail purchases. However, if you opt to revolve, then interest will be charged from the date of the respective retail transaction. In case of cash withdrawals, you will be charged interest rate from the date of transaction till settlement date.

How do I make my monthly payments?

Answer: You may choose the following payment options for monthly payments: - at any GarantiBank branches - by calling Alo Garanti - at GarantiBank ATMs - Electronic Fund transfer from other banks - through Direct Debit - at Posta Romana Offices

Can I make credit card monthly payments if I declared my Bonus card lost/stolen and the new one wasn’t issued yet?

Answer: You can pay your Bonus card Balance on all GarantiBank Branches or calling Alo Garanti 0800 80 12345/ + 40 21 200 94 94.

How do I spend my accumulated bonus?

The accumulated bonus you earn can be easily redeemed at any Bonus Card Partner Merchants, for any amount and at any time. It is your decision when and what to buy for free with your bonuses. You can choose to redeem all or just some of your collected bonuses for the total or a partial purchase amount while shopping at any Bonus Card Partner Merchant. All you need to do is tell the cashier at the moment of payment that you want to use your accumulated bonuses.

How do I earn bonus?

Every time that you shop anywhere in the world you earn 0.5% bonus. When you shop at Bonus Card Partner Merchants you earn between 1-5% bonus. The more you use your Bonus card the more you earn.

What happens if I do not spend my accumulated bonus?

Your bonus never expires! It is stored on the chip of your card, so you can use it for free shopping whenever you like!

Can I still earn bonus when I make purchases in installments?

Yes, you can earn bonus also when you shop in installments at Bonus Card Partner Merchants.
